A Leap Once And Always - A PSL for Billy and the Quantum Leap team

It had been... an odd week. Zack had been acting odd. Very odd. Thankfully the crisis that came up wasn't a Power Rangers crisis, and Zack handled it just fine. But he hadn't handled it like Zack. He had talked his way through, but not in a Zack way. And pulled out some sweet skills that were more Billy's general way of dealing with a problem than Zack's. And that wasn't all.

He had told someone a story to calm them down about a friend named Ben Song. A friend he seemed... very close to from the story. A friend Billy had never heard of before. And there was more... Zack being overheard talking to himself sometimes during the week, like he was having a conversation.

And then within a half hour of the crisis passing, Zack begged out of the celebration that followed, saying he wasn't feeling well.

It was Billy who was the only one he confided in after. That he had no memory of the past week. None whatsoever. But he was having odd dreams he couldn't remember after he wok up except for a man with black hair and dark eyes and stubble.

That was it. All the clues Billy had to something weird. Zack remembering nothing about the week he was acting oddly, Zack's vague memories, and the name Ben Song.

But, he's Billy...

Alright, sounds like they...potentially have a problem on their hands. (When isn't there a problem?) Billy's worked on getting things stable at the company, dealing with relationship fallout, and now? More weirdness than he knows what to do with.

He taps away at his tablet, searching for an answer, but there's insufficient data to draw a conclusion. How frustrating.

Maybe he should check the energy readings again?

He heads outside for this next test. Everything's set up to scan, because he would really like to intercept the next intergalactic threat before it hurts someone. That'd be nice.

"It's...almost like there was a distinct split in Zack's consciousness. Like a clone, or an episode of disassociation...."

He doesn't want to scare his friend by pushing him too hard, so if he could solve it on his own? That'd be great. But there's so much missing.

There was very much something odd in the scan. And his second guess, disassociation seemed to be closer to correct, but... on a quantum level. And more, something odd in his eyes as though they had been focused differently for a brief time. Enough to leave a mark, but it was like working out. Not enough to make a permanent change unless he kept at it.

But also there was almost an... aura.. around Zack. The readings were almost.. temporal in nature.
